Get your files back from a Mac that won't start.
Dead logic boards, liquid spills, failed SSDs, Fusion Drives and Time Machine disks. We recover data from every Mac, from 2008 MacBooks to the latest Apple silicon models, at our lab in London SE1.
Which Mac is it?
How we get data back depends on how your Mac stores it. Pick the closest match.
Board-level recovery
- Storage
- Soldered to the logic board and encrypted by the Apple chip (M1, M2, M3, M4 and later).
- What we do
- The data can only be read by that same Mac, so we repair the logic board until it starts, then copy your files off.
- Bring
- Your Mac login password.
What happened to your Mac?
- It won't turn on or chargeOften a logic board fault. The data is usually untouched, but on newer Macs the board has to work to read it.
- Liquid was spilled on itSwitch it off, don't charge it and bring it in quickly. Corrosion spreads the longer it sits.
- It starts but shows a folder with a question markThe Mac can't find its startup disk. The SSD or drive may be failing, or the file system is damaged.
- The iMac is slow, then stopped bootingA classic sign of a failing hard drive or Fusion Drive in iMacs up to 2019.
- An external or Time Machine drive isn't showing upClicking, beeping or simply missing from Finder. We recover the drive and rebuild your backups.
- Files were deleted or the disk was erasedStop using the Mac now. On SSDs, deleted data is cleared quickly, so time matters.
- The shared NAS or RAID won't mountSynology, QNAP, Promise Pegasus or G-RAID showing degraded or crashed. Don't start a rebuild.
- Files on the NAS were encrypted by ransomwareUnplug the NAS from the network and call us before paying anyone or resetting it.
- An employee wiped a company MacStop using it and don't reinstall anything. What you do in the first hour decides what can be recovered.
- You want business Macs protected before someone leavesWe manage and back up company Macs, so a departing employee can't take your data with them.

Apple hardware specialists, not a general repair counter
Our engineers have worked on Apple computer hardware for over 20 years. We repair Mac logic boards in-house, which matters more than ever: on every Mac made since 2018, getting the board running is the only way to reach the data.
Physically damaged hard drives are opened in our clean room, and donor parts are matched to your exact drive.

Registered with the ICO (registration ZA060744). Your data is handled confidentially, and we can securely destroy your old drive once you have your files.
